If you tried using this patch on a non nav radio it would refuse installation.
There currently is an officially released update for the non nav radio but they said that there are very few changes that the user would notice.
While most customers will wait to visit their dealer to upgrade the firmware of their UConnect systems, it’s not required for those who have connected USB drives in their recent Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, or Dodge. However, it is complicated and somewhat time consuming. The radio will recognize the type of CD and begin the update process automatically. There are various places available online to download the MYGIG software updates and create a CD for your own use. Please extract these items to your desktop for easy of finding them later on.
If you would prefer to put them else where you can put them in My documents etc as long as you remember where you put them.3.
When the process is complete the radio will turn off and back on.
Then it may ask you if you want to install the software again.
Send an email including your name and Addressand ask for a REN software update CD to Steve Montealegre at Harman Becker ( I tryed the update and it seemed to work but when I returned to my vehicle the nav was freakin out. futil, you might want to edit the title of this thread and edit your main thread so no one attempts to update their REN radio with this file.
It is trying to update again and keeps giving "serious error (1200)" Can anybody help?? I want to put the disc back in and try the update again hoping it will clear the error. I emailed the Harman rep and requested an REN update for my 08 Caravan since I have had an annoying bug that happens when attempting to play a bad file.
CHECK YOUR SYSTEM until you have fixed the hard drive problem.
